EAI participates in talks between religious leaders and government officials
EAI Director Nick Park was one of the participants in talks yesterday between religious leaders and government officials.
“The government is well aware of, and sympathetic to, the strong desire of all religious leaders to recommence in-person worship services when Level Three measures resume next week.
The religious leaders appreciate the government’s duty to protect public health, and wish to cooperate in ensuring that worship services can be conducted responsibly and safely.
I remain hopeful that church services can restart at the beginning of December, but there are unpredictable factors that could affect that, such as the position of NPHET and the trajectory over coming days of Covid-19 cases, hospitalisations and deaths.
Let’s continue to pray for God to guide those in government, as they make decisions that affect all of our lives.
And let’s pray for the spread of this awful virus to be halted.”
