Cross-cultural Networks

Seeking to build cross-cultural regional relationships — through church leaders first and then through congregations. The common focus here is prayer.

Church Liaison

This activity focuses on encouraging and supporting local and regional networks of leaders who meet together regularly. It includes EAI casting vision and having guided conversations with Christian Leaders in different regions.

Lausanne Ireland

The Third Lausanne Congress on World Evangelisation was held in Cape Town, South Africa, 16-25 October 2010. The Congress, held in collaboration with the World Evangelical Alliance, brought together over 4,000 leaders from more than 200 countries to confront the critical issues of our time. A team of nine people, organised by EAI, attended from Ireland. It was intended to be a catalytic event in the life of the church. This initiative is to explore what relevance this has for Ireland!

New Catalyst website

This project will change EAI e-presence to fully complement our labour-intensive catalyst work and so enable automatic “catalysing” via social media and other online solutions. Using this solution, we hope to enable more Kingdom initiatives arise without our direct involvement.

National Prayer

This initiative is to call all who self-describe as Christians to a day of prayer for Ireland. It is expected that such a day will raise awareness amongst Evangelicals, as well as the broader community, of our dependence on God and the potential of Godly humility in the country.

Level 3 Dialogue

This initiative consists of various ongoing dialogues with those who self-identify as Christian but would not be Evangelical.

Social Justice

Seeking to identify areas where there is no Evangelical Christian response to social injustices and identifying best response.

CS Lewis Lecture

The C.S. Lewis Lecture is public lecture to bring a Christian perspective to some national issue. Leaders from the spheres of business, media, politics and voluntary sector are invited. Attendees come primarily as Christian business and academic leaders host their colleagues at the event. The focus is to “influence the influencers” in our city and country.

Tirzah (ending human trafficking in Ireland)

Tirzah is answering the clear call of God to make a stand and to take action against the evil of human trafficking/modern day slavery which is taking place throughout Ireland. To achieve our goal, we are committed to prayer, awareness raising, education, direct outreach, research and advocacy. We strongly believe that God is mobilizing the church for the purpose of bringing to an end human trafficking in Ireland.

Media Representation

At various times EAI is contacted by the media for a view on particular topics or to send a representative to Radio or TV shows.

Media Journalist

A journalist works for EAI one day per week. The function of the Journalist is to report from the Christian world into mainstream media so demonstrating the gospel in action. The Journalist also assists where EAI members need media support for special events or training.

VOX Magazine

The vision behind VOX magazine is to see Christians in Ireland informed, inspired and equipped to engage with one another and with Irish society. We look closely at what is happening in our nation, ask challenging questions and share and celebrate God’s work in lives and communities. It is written in a contemporary style and as much as possible without a Christian “language” so that it can be easily read by those outside of the church.

Emerging Leaders

The emerging leader’s initiative consists of two elements: Two ‘Network’ events per year and one retreat. Network events will be focused around a question/strategic issue that will equip young leaders (who are Christians) working across a number of contexts. The retreat takes 15-20 of these young leaders with 4-6 others who are further along in their journey, for a time of encouragement and relationship building. Overall objectives are: 1) To create an opportunity for young leaders to engage with each other and build relationships; 2)To provide encouragement, space and some relevant input to help shape these young leaders and enable them to lead well; To stimulate and catalyse young Christian leaders to lead missionally and positively influence society. EAI will work with Innovista on this initiative.

Voice

This group of writers, thinkers and speakers present a particular perspective to the Christian community on contemporary issues. This is for the purpose of developing thinking in an Irish context. These will not necessarily represent the views of EAI but will b e a means of stirring discussion.
