Praxis, is holding its annual conference on 10-11th May, with the intention of inspiring and encouraging increased missional ministry by ordinary people through Ireland.

Today, in Ireland as in many post-Christian societies, the emphasis among churches and individual Christian is on Mission.  We seek continually  to reach out to those who do not yet know the powerful and all embracing message of Jesus Christ.  While this is our aim, many of us struggle to find new and effective  ways of doing mission.  How do we reach out to  those who need our love and our message?

Following a succesful first conference last year, the upcoming 2019 Praxis Conference seeks to explore answers to this question.  Designed with ordinary people and local churches in mind, the conference will feature experienced speakers and practical guidence for all those interested in mission.

In organising this conference, Praxis hopes to aid increased missional praxis in Ireland by faciliatating the listening to two international leaders who have been helping small communities turn theory into action and practise this mission for over twenty years. Attendees will also hear from local Irish leaders – their stories and learnings. An important part of this conference is for Irish Christians to engage with each other on what mission could be in Ireland today.

If  you have a heart for God's mission and are interested in following Jesus on his mission to rewrite the story of our culture, this is an invitation to join with others to the movement of Jesus and to learn from experienced practitioners about what mission could look like.

The conference will bring together ordinary people who care about mission and seeing the gospel impact others. Through this gathering and ongoing learning communities it aims to envision and encourage more practical expressions of mission across Ireland.

The main speakers are

Brian Heasely of International Prayer Director for 24/7 Prayer

Heather Morris, the General secretary of the Home Mission Department, Methodist Church  in Ireland

Brian Sanders of Underground Network, who has extensive experience internationally in facilitating small communities turn theory into action and practice mission in many different contexts.

Praxis is a group of Christian leaders from small grassroots Christian communities desiring to see God build his Kingdom. Over the past two years as a learning community they have been sharing together stories and ideas of what this mission of God can look like in contemporary Ireland. Learning from diverse ministries and practitioners their hope is that Irish believers may be united and enabled to see movement happen across the country. Check out their website here.
